Scenario: 1. Booted Gentoo 2005.1 LiveCD. 2. Chose "gentoo" kernel. 3. Got verbose mode to display after a few seconds. 4. Keyboard failed to function once LiveCD reached keymap selection. Tried the nokeymap flag, and it still didn't work. I've tried two keyboards and I even went so far as to go back to the 2005.0 release. Neither worked. ASUS A8N-E (Nforce4 chipset) AMD 64 3000 1gb DDR-400 Dual-Channel 80gb WD SATA HDD Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert Gentoo 2005.x release LiveCD. 2. Choose "gentoo" kernel. Actual Results: Keyboard no longer works after LiveCD asks to choose a keymap. Expected Results: Keyboard should've worked flawlessly considering that neither set of keyboards used is multimedia or "special" in any way. I have a hunch that this may be a chipset communication error on the part of Linux, but I may be wrong. Friend of mine told me that this may be a "one in a billion" configuration that just "happens" to not work with Gentoo's LiveCD.
