When emerging splashutils-1.1.9.10, after: make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/splashutils-1.1.9.10/work/miscsplashutils-0.1.3/kbd' CONF libjpeg MAKE libjpeg I get a long list of denials for ccache: ACCESS DENIED open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats ACCESS DENIED open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats ACCESS DENIED open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats And then It gives me the access violation summary log file from "/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-media-gfx_-_splashutils-1.1.9.10-25872.log" which is just long lines of: open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats open_wr: /root/.ccache/stats To make sure it wasn't a problem with ccache i added it to package.mask and ccache seems to be working perfectly. Did you try to use 1.1.9.9-r1 before upgrading to 1.1.9.10? If yes, did it work? Can you confirm that this problem appears only when trying to emerge splashutils, and not some other packages?
the versions that I cannot upgrade to are: media-gfx/splashutils-1.1.9.10 media-gfx/splashutils-1.1.9.9-r1 media-gfx/splashutils-1.1.9.9 seems fine though.
Its because klibc was built with ccache: $ grep gcc /usr/bin/klcc | head -n 2 $CC = "\/usr\/lib\/ccache\/bin\/gcc"; @CC = qw(/usr/lib/ccache/bin/gcc);
I rebuilt klibc -ccache and everything went fine with splashutils-1.1.9.10. Resolving as invalid because it's not a splashutils problem. Should a bug be made up about klibc or ccache?
