xmms media-sound/xmms-1.2.10-r15 artsd kde-base/arts-3.4.1-r2 When I am disconnected from the network and start artsd -d &, the artsd process starts up. When I take XMMS and press "play", XMMS hangs up for a while (the song name rolling display even stops rolling) and then pops out message "make sure your sound card is configured properly blahblah". Confirming this problem. xmms hangs whenever there's no internet connection available on my box.

xmms and all plugins are now package.masked and will be removed from the tree in one month. WONTFIX.
