Please use the attachment feature to attach large files. If possible, it would be useful to see the output from a 2.6.12 dmesg where 4 processors are being seen.

Heh, if I had a dual xeon I would be more than happy to try and reproduce it, but I somehow doubt this issue affects my Athlon XP machine :) I found a similar report on the Linux kernel mailing list. It looks like the problem is solved when you enable ACPI support in the kernel. This means enabling CONFIG_PM and CONFIG_ACPI - when you get a chance, please let us know how this works out :)
