Wouldn't it be easier to report what actually *does* compile? ;p OK, these are p.masked alpha versions and most probably upstream bugs.
By far most of kde-meta-3.5_alpha1 packages did emerge well, so it's easier to focus on the ebuilds that didn't compile. Other "alpha testers" didn't seem to have my emerge problems (see thread http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-379368.html), so it seems not to be the problem of the source code (except it was replaced in the meantime).
