standard gentoo install according to the handbook, emerge -e system failed twice with this error on package 38 of 91, no emerge -e -f system (package prefetch) used, also tried a stanard emerge of the package after the error occured 'emerge dev-python/python-fschksum' package downloads, error reproduced Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: (first occurance) 1.emerge -e system 1a. wait ~6hrs for it to get to this package (its on a P3 600) 2.package downloads from mirror 3.error occurs 1. emerge dev-python/python-fchksum 2. error occurs Actual Results: all md5sums report files OK, >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking python-fchksum-1.7.1.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/python-fchksum-1. 7.1/work >>> Source unpacked. (no error message) i get this output ^^^^ Expected Results: emerged normally, like it did on my other system (celeron 1700/w via chipset) it was a normal stage 1 gentoo install according to the handbook. didnt prefetch the packages either, downloads them from the mirror every time
