Description Alistair 2005-08-23 13:58:19 UTC
Between xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1 and xorg-x11-6.8.2-r2 a bug has been introduced that
affects applications running under Crossover Office. Maybe this also happens
for other wine apps, but because Crossover is so important to my business, I
downgraded X before trying.

The symptoms are: in Word, the text insertion cursor becomes invisible (unless
ancient WordPerfect white-on-blue is selected) rendering the app
all-but-useless.

In all apps, some odd graphic effects occur - greyed-out icons become opaque,
so that the greyed-out text is masked, and some buttons have a strange border
around them. The application menu icons are turned to grey and the "etched"
inactive text in the Word status bar turns into grey blobs.

I have tried changing cards (from nv to i810) and changing resolutions, without
effect. Downgrading to r1 is an instant cure!
