Description Martin Mokrejš 2005-08-16 13:41:53 UTC
Hi,
I just wanted to test whether the ASUS WiFi card works under Gentoo (haven't
tried since about two years ...). Well, I see the project moved to sourceforge
and that the rt2400 chipset has probably uniform driver with rt2500 chipset and
upcoming new chipsets as well. However, I see at the download page:

Latest BETA rt2400 driver: v1.2.2-b3
(http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/rt2400/rt2400-1.2.2-b3.tar.gz?download)

Latest BETA rt2500 driver: v1.1.0-b3
(http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/rt2400/rt2500-1.1.0-b3.tar.gz?download)

Latest BETA rt2570 driver: v1.1.0-b1

Please include the rt2400 and possibly rt2570 as well.

Reproducible: Always

There is an ebuild for it: bug 84071

Do you have any of these chipsets?
I am a bit reluctant to add ebuilds to portage that were never testet on real
hardware ..

It's not because developers are lazy, it's because users don't test and we don't
have the hardware :/

I have the card but don't use it. It was a waste of money, I rather bought a
cable connection. ;) But just for curiosity I wanted to re-test. Last time it
was about 2.4.20 kernel version. ;) 2.6.13-rc6 has problems.
