Comment 1 Michael Hanselmann (hansmi) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-14 12:41:43 UTC
Please describe how to reproduce this, because I can send e-mails as root.
Comment 2 Michele Schiavo 2005-08-14 12:58:13 UTC
Just install from 2005.1 from stage3-pentium4
after emerge--sync; emerge-uD system emerge -uD world
emerge apache, php, mod_php mod_ssl ecc.
emerge qmail
create the link send and smtp in /service
rc-update add svscan default
i just try to emerge -e qmail but nothing.with uid!=0 working good, but with uid=0
bin/qmail-queue: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open
shared object file: Permission denied
qmail-inject: fatal: qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)
Can't send mail: sendmail process failed with error code 111

No log.

i have also another PC (qmail working) i tried to copy the package form this and
emerge with -k but i have the same error.
just try the ~x86 qmail , but nothing.
now, i'll try to do emerge -e world.

Try with myself kernel and genkernel.
Try without emerge
Comment 10 Michele Schiavo 2005-08-15 09:08:33 UTC
I think the problem in 2005.1 stage file.

I try with some new installation.
No tocuh USE
Try with myself kernel and genkernel.
Try without emergesync before and try again with emerge sync before emerge
qmail
Try with and without ebuild /var/db . And/or editing by hands me , locals,
rcpt.. ecc
At home i have qmail working. I try to copy the package buid home and emege
with k. Nothing
I try to copy /var/qmail from home, nothing.
Comment 11 Michael Hanselmann (hansmi) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-18 12:15:59 UTC
What have you changed in conf-*?
Comment 12 Michele Schiavo 2005-08-18 12:38:47 UTC
On the last test
install 2005.1 from live-cd 2005.1 x86 universal.
only emerge gentoo-source
build the kernel
emerge grub qmail vixie-cron syslog-ng slocate dhcpcd dhcp bind couldplug ntpd

rc-update couldplug boot and bind svscan syslog-ng vixie ntpd-client on default

copy my server.local zone for bind (it's working)

change clock (local)
keymapd (it)
resolv.conf (192.168.x.y my ip address)
net (static address)

ln -s ... qmail-send and qmail-smptd in /service
ebuild /var/db/net-mta/qmailxxx-qmailxx config
edit serv..
finish configure qmail by ebuild (create cert and me, local, plusdomain, rcpthost)
emerge mailbase and mailx

I have try that with 2 different PC (P4 478 and P4 775) with genkernel and
myself kernel with 2005.1 same error

Also tried without doing ebuild ... but just echo "server.local" in me, locals
rcpthosts. Same error

at home i have other 2 PC but installed from 2005.0 and they working good.

Today i have tried to un-merge mailx and add mailutils and it saw
/usr/sbin/sendmail not found ( but the link of sendmail there was)

doing the last update yesterday to new glibc (r1?) but not solved
try emerge -e world, same problem
revdev-rebuild don't found anything to rebuild)

this is my make.conf
CFLAGS="-O3 -mcpu=pentium4 -march=pentium4 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -mfpmath=sse"

same error with -O2
Comment 13 Michele Schiavo 2005-08-18 12:39:48 UTC
P.S. now i have also installed apache2 mysql samba and i don't have glibc error
