Whenever I try to retrieve a fortune, occasionaly I recieve a segfault or an internal error. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install x86_64 Gentoo 2. emerge wmfortune 3. fortune Actual Results: $ fortune >>> Internal error in fortune program: >>> fnum=2987 n=45 flag=1 goose_level=-232323 >>> Please write down these values and notify fortune program administrator. Expected Results: Should have given a fortune every time, instead of having an error. $ emerge -p wmfortune [ebuild R ] x11-plugins/wmfortune-0.241 $ emerge info Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6 .12-gentoo-r6 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share /config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib6 4/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.llarian.net/ http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo/ http: //distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/ http://gentoo.osuosl.org/" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://192.168.20.10/gentoo-portage/" USE="amd64 X a52 aac aalib acl acpi aim alsa audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts b mp bzip2 cdb cdr crypt cups curl dvd dvdread eds emul-linux-x86 encode esd ether eal exif fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran ftp gd gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk g tk2 hal imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg kde lm_sensors lzw lzw-tiff mad mikmod mime mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl nptlonly offensive ogg opengl oscar pam p cmcia pdflib perl pic png posix python qt quicktime readline samba sdl sndfile s ockets spell ssl szip tcpd theora tiff truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb userlocale s vcd vorbis wifi wmf wxwindows xine xml2 xmms xpm xv xvid zlib userland_GNU ker nel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
Please, include full ebuild name and version in bug summary next time. Thanks.
Could not reproduce the issue here (but I'm running an x86 machine). Anybody else can see/solve this?
