Subclipse is now up to version 0.9.32, which includes compatibility with Eclipse 3.1. I'll attach my ebuild, which is the same as the 0.9.31 ebuild, except with an amended DEPEND entry Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

I'm afraid your hard work has been in vain! karltk has decided not to include binary Eclipse plugins in Portage anymore and I've come up with a source plugin for Subclipse! I'll be putting it up very soon though it needs the very radical changes (i.e. almost total rewrite) to eclipse-ext.eclass that I've been working on.

Latest Version is 0.9.108, any news on a non-bin build? Or can we update subclipse-bin for now until it becomes available?
The work for non-bin eclipse plugins done by James is available in an overlay located at http://svn.gentooexperimental.org/svn/java/chewi-overlay/ As for using the non-bin versus the bin... the eclass has changed fairly drastically to support building from source, and would need a good amount of review. At this time, we're currently focusing our limited manpower on preparing to migrate to a new java build system so Java 1.5 can finally be unmasked. To that ends, we're in a package freeze, with the exception of critical bugs, so even a -bin bump would have to wait.
Marked WONTFIX, old ebuild and -bin so no real interest to put that into Portage.
