Hi! I'm unsing vanilla-sources-2.6.12.3 and cdparanoia-3.9.8-r2. Using the ide cd-rom layer sometimes causes cdparanoia to hang. It happens sporadically, but when it happens it will happen with the same cd and track again. When using ide-scsi emulation things work just fine. It also work fine when dropping the offset correction (-O) but I definately don't wanna go there. I tried to get along with ide-scsi emulation, but that doesn't really work: a: It's deprecated and everyone suggest to use just ide b: Burning isn't working. Trying freezes my box. I tried ide-scsi and burning with a 2.4.31 kernel and it worked. c: It wouldn't fix the problem itself. So if anyone knows where to look, be it kernel or cdparanoia, and knows how to fix it it'd be great. Thanks Sebastian Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Trying to make rip a CD X 2. Track #2 hangs using "cdparanoia -z -X -O12 -B 2" 3. CTRL-c and retry: same old song and dance Actual Results: Some tracks just hang. Retries don't help. Expected Results: Working just as it did with ide-scsi emu. emerge info Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.5-20050130, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.13-rc3 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.13-rc3 i686 AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+ Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 ccache version 2.3 [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/data/eltern_vdr/data/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://sunsite.rwth-aachen.de/pub/Linux/gentoo" LANG="de_DE@euro" LC_ALL="de_DE@euro" LINGUAS="de" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow 3dnowext X a52 alsa crypt cups dts dvd dvdread encode ffmpeg flac foomaticdb freetype gnome gtk2 ithreads jpeg mad mmx mmxext ncurses nls ogg oggvorbis png ppds qt readline rtc spell sse ssl tetex truetype truetype-fonts userlocales vcd vorbis wxwindows xv xvid zlib linguas_de userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LDFLAGS
