Ruby 1.9 has now been masked for removal. (In reply to Hans de Graaff from comment #1) > Ruby 1.9 has now been masked for removal. Problem is that Ruby 2.0 [1] and 2.1 [2] all fail to build on ia64. Removing Ruby 1.9 will thus leave ia64 without a working Ruby implementation... Émeric [1] https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513508 [2] https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561780 (In reply to Émeric Maschino from comment #2) > Problem is that Ruby 2.0 [1] and 2.1 [2] all fail to build on ia64. Removing > Ruby 1.9 will thus leave ia64 without a working Ruby implementation... Both ruby-2.0.0_p645 and ruby-2.1.6-r1 have been marked stable by the ia64 team so these should work at least in some cases. Ruby 1.9 is deprecated upstream and no longer receives security fixes. Furthermore, more and more ruby code no longer works on Ruby 1.9. Even if this was the last version supporting ia64 we would still need to remove it. |
