Looks like it can break some packages due: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/UnderstandingDSOLinkChange See, for example: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411701 https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409235 (In reply to comment #1) > Looks like it can break some packages due: > http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/UnderstandingDSOLinkChange > > See, for example: > https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411701 > https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409235 This is exactly the underlinking problem. We've been fixing bugs like this for over a year now afaik... see bug 372079. So, in my understanding no new breakage... But looks like that underlinking problems were hidden before and now not, or are that reporters using some variation? :-/ (In reply to comment #3) at least one of those reports was using ld.gold by default i think Stable for HPPA. arm stable amd64 (hardened): ok (tests fail, builds fine, @system emerged fine) s390 stable amd64 stable x86 stable ppc64 done ppc stable. alpha/ia64/sh/sparc stable and i can't close the bug due to a bug open in depends |
