It's been moved to /usr/share/portage/config/ along with make.globals. Maybe we should install a symlink in the old location, like we do for make.globals. No. For make.globals, the symlink is required as 3rd party tools rely on the old location, which is not the case for make.conf.example. A simple postinst message should be enough to alert people about the move. *** Bug 274944 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I don't know when this changed, but portage now installs make.conf.example as /usr/share/portage/config/make.conf.example |
