Description Jose Lorenzo Rodriguez 2005-06-19 17:03:39 UTC
I'm triying to update kdelibs from 3.4.0-r2 to kdelibs-3.4.1-r1, but every time,
after a few minutes compiling my computer hangs up. Here's the last message of
my kernel after the hangup:
[kernel] MCE: The hardware reports a non fatal, correctable incident occurred on
CPU 0.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -auvD world
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Computer hangs up compiling kdelibs

Expected Results:
Compile kdelibs

Hmm, and what should we do about your broken hardware (CPU)? See Bug 20600 for
possible causes of this problem. And BTW, stop overclocking. ;p
Comment 2 Jose Lorenzo Rodriguez 2005-06-20 06:58:16 UTC
I read bug 20600 and i'm going to try these solutions, but i'm not sure if I am
overclocking, how do you know if you are doing it and how to resolve that?

Check your BIOS settings if they match the CPU specs and/or set the CPU
frequency to Auto in BIOS. Check if your CPU is not overheating, etc.

This is not a kdelibs bug and we cannot do anything about hardware issues. Sorry.
