Created attachment 920219 [details] build.log I've reported this upstream already at https://sourceforge.net/p/ddrescue/tickets/9/ but filing this to keep notes as we go, as they can't reproduce it yet. It's non-deterministic and the failure isn't always the same either. ``` dd_rescue: (info): hash ( 0): sha256 testfile (0-8388612): af8982aa6e42b83315d49caf60bc5572f6a984e8c3cd23c95e1161a105f3e003 If I unpack dd_rescue-1.99.20.tar.bz2 and run simply `make && make check`, then `time ( while true ; do LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./test_sparse.sh "-L ./libddr_crypt.so=AES192-CTR:weakrnd:pbkdf2:pass=ABC:" "encrypt" "decrypt" 8388612 || break ; done ; )`, it has a decent chance for me of failing within 30 seconds.
