In preparation and for tracking, currently planning to do it in ~20 days or so if nothing major comes up.

I say major, given I do not expect this version to be best for everyone -- but this is now considered a production branch by NVIDIA (making it a stable candidate here), and it is really needed for its wayland improvements. No new branch have been stabled since 550 due to all being "new feature" branches or betas.

Users for which it does not work great for should manually pick the 550.x branch which is still supported at the moment.

This will notably unleash explicit sync by default to stable users (through the new egl-wayland). This should've improved a lot since first introduced but may still cause issues with some specific software (in "most" cases, the problems are in said software due to misuse).

Using egl-wayland-1.1.18_pre* snapshot rather than 1.1.17 given nvidia-drivers-570.124.04 also ships with 1.1.18 and its commits include a fix for undefined behaviour. egl-x11 is still at 1.0.0 so I believe no need to change that one.
