Upstream has done a total rewrite from the v1.6 currently in portage, the most important user-facing change is that it now won't instantly hang if used on Pipewire. (still trivial to crash by pressing F3, but at least it can change the volume…) The current -9999.ebuild still works but needs some updating, ncursesw/unicode is no longer optional.
