for automatic handling of 3rd party addons - - cloud : Build the Cloud workbench, to access cloud providers (mostly Amazon S3). - - debug : Enable extra debug codepaths, like asserts and extra output. If you want to get meaningful backtraces see https://wi ki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Quality_Assur ance/Backtraces - - designer : Build and install the Qt designer plugin, so the FreeCAD widgets can be used from within designer. + - fem : Build the FEM module and workbench which provides Finite Element Analysis (FEA) workflows + - gui : Build FreeCAD with a Qt based GUI. If built without setting this USE flag, FreeCAD can be used in a headless mode, for server-side instances. The Python modules are available, without their GUI parts though, if this is unset. + - idf : Build the IDF module to provide file exchange capabilities with IDF files + - image : Build the image module and workbench for working with bitmap images + - inspection : Build the inspection workbench which gives you specific tools for examination of shapes (experimental) + - material : Build the material module and workbench to work with materials + - netgen : Build support for the netgen mesher through media-gfx/netgen. + - openscad : Build the OpenSCAD module for interoperability with OpenSCAD and repairing Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) history + - part-design : Build the part design module and workbench for build part shapes from sketches + - path : Build the path module and workbench to procude G-Code instructions for CNC + - pcl : Use external sci-libs/pcl for point clouds support. + - points : Build the points module and workbench for working with point clouds - - python_single_target_python3_10 : Build for Python 3.10 only + + python_single_target_python3_11 : Build for Python 3.11 only - - python_single_target_python3_12 : Build for Python 3.12 only + - raytracing : Build the raytracing module and workbench for raytracing and rendering + - robot : Build the robot module and workbench for studying robot movements + - show : Build the show module, a helper module for visibility automation + - smesh : Build Salome SMESH + - surface : Build the surface module and workbench + - techdraw : Build the techdraw module and workbench, a more advanced and feature-rich successor of the drawing workbench - - test : Enable dependencies and/or preparations necessary to run tests (usually controlled by FEATURES=test but can be toggled independently) + - tux : Build the Tux module ------------------------------------------------------------------- acer ~ # emerge --noreplace -p =freecad-1.0.0 These are the packages that would be merged, in order: [ebuild N ] media-gfx/freecad-1.0.0 USE="addonmgr -cloud -debug -designer fem gui idf image inspection material netgen openscad part-design path pcl points (-qt5) raytracing robot show smesh surface techdraw -test tux" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="-python3_10 python3_11 -python3_12" ------------------------------------------------------------------- acer ~ # emerge -p =freecad-1.0.0 These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order: Calculating dependencies .... done! That pasted output doesn't make sense. The output shouldn't differ with or without --noreplace. This looks like you've unmasked USE=qt5 and then seeing the breakage that's expected.
One interesting thing is: ``` gui? ( >=media-libs/coin-4.0.0 virtual/glu virtual/opengl [...] !qt5? ( designer? ( dev-qt/qttools:6[designer] ) dev-qt/qt5compat:6 dev-qt/qttools:6[widgets] dev-qt/qtbase:6[gui,opengl,widgets] dev-qt/qtsvg:6 pcl? ( sci-libs/pcl[-qt5,qt6(-)] ) [...] ``` i.e. USE="gui -qt5 pcl" may barf on the -qt5 in the pcl dep. We can change it to -qt5(-) and I'll do that but really, -r1 has all of this cleaned up.
