This package does not support Python 3.12. Please test it with Python 3.12 as a matter of urgency as the default will change in early June, as per message on gentoo-dev: https://www.mail-archive.com/gentoo-dev@lists.gentoo.org/msg99104.html. Please check the information provided in the tracker. Ask in #gentoo-python on IRC if need any help.

since samba was updated couple of days ago, i manually set this package to be compatible with 3.12 and it seems to work fine...just all this python "incompatibilities" made me realize why i stopped using hardened profile... 3 packages that where lagging behind in python upgrades on my system where samba (+dependencies), nmap and pypax...

You don't have to move to Python 3.12 before the default changes, that's your decision.

I know i know :)... worded it wrongly i guess, but OCD kicks in when i see only couple of packages not "supported" and wanting to move on and at same time keeping single instance of python installed... after i wrote that post and read it back i thought it sounds slightly hostile, but there is no edit button (or maybe im dumb finding it), sorry about that...
