dev-python/bsddb3 is a horrible and unmaintained package. FWICS exaile supports "berkeleydb" which is also horrible but at least maintained. However, we've already lastrited it once because of being horrible, so if we're to readd it, I'd like to know that it's really worth it, and it isn't better to just lastrite exaile instead.
Please do not add any package or dependency that proliferates Berkeley DB support at large in ::gentoo. The base-system team want to reduce Berkeley DB to an absolute minimum with the goal of eliminating it entirely from the repo at some point, since it's unmaintained upstream, of extremely low quality and all unmasked versions are ancient and full of security vulnerabilities. I for one would hate to loose native installation support of my favorite player because a sub library is maintained but considered horrible.
