Comment 2 Jonas Stein gentoo-dev 2024-01-06 22:04:31 UTC
works for me. Could you please sync again and then test again?

Perhaps you have old data in the cache. There was an update:
https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/app-crypt/gpgme?id=ddd65294cc65d19fd32e3972eede14fc762428ed

That should solve the problem.

Please reopen this ticket, if I was wrong.
Comment 3 Johannes Niess 2024-01-07 11:44:49 UTC
That Manifest update by Sam James <sam@gentoo.org> was for version 1.23._2_ while I still experience the issue with the latest stable version 1.23._1_

"rm -r /usr/portage/app-crypt/gpgme; eix-sync" didn't help.

Ticket status was reset as requested.
Comment 4 Johannes Niess 2024-01-25 18:26:41 UTC
No change in the last 2 weeks, despite daily syncs. This will probably become irrelevant only when stabilizing version 1.23.2 or above.

With two hard dependencies in popular packages, I wonder why no one else is complaining.

niess@sawfish /tmp $ equery depends gpgme
 * These packages depend on gpgme:
app-office/libreoffice-7.5.9.2 (app-crypt/gpgme[cxx])
app-portage/portage-utils-0.96.1 (!static ? app-crypt/gpgme)
                                 (static ? app-crypt/gpgme[static-libs])
app-text/poppler-23.12.0 (gpgme ? >=app-crypt/gpgme-1.19.0[cxx])
kde-apps/kget-23.08.4 (gpg ? app-crypt/gpgme[qt5])
kde-frameworks/kwallet-5.113.0 (gpg ? >=app-crypt/gpgme-1.7.1[cxx,qt5])
net-fs/samba-4.18.8 (gpg ? app-crypt/gpgme)

Comment 5 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2024-01-25 19:04:23 UTC
You appear to have an invalid GENTOO_MIRRORS setting.

The copy of the gpgme-1.23.1.tar.bz2.sig on Gentoo mirrors has the matching size and checksums.

It appears that the upstream file on GNU mirrors was updated since we mirrored it.

(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #5)
> You appear to have an invalid GENTOO_MIRRORS setting.

It looks like your selected mirrors are out of date by several months. Please select new mirrors, or simply remove the GENTOO_MIRRORS setting and Portage will use distfiles.gentoo.org by default.
Comment 8 Johannes Niess 2024-01-25 20:51:43 UTC
I can confirm both issues as resolved. Thank you.

1) The checksum error was fixed after the Manifest update hit the mirrors.

2) My app-portage/mirrorselect source mirrors were no longer syncing, e. g. not having the latest kernel distfiles. I selected them long ago and never verified them again. But I wonder how I kept up to date despite that.

P. S: The Gentoo handbook has portage mirrors as optional and "faster". Maybe we should add a sentence about the added value of the automated QC checks done via distfiles.gentoo.org.
