Did this work in previous versions of the ebuild?
No clue if it previously worked but this continues to be an issue up to 5.0.0. I've tested and fixed USE=webkit in version 5.0.1, which is in the linked PR and hopefully will be merged in the coming days. Please consider upgrading to it if you rely on USE=webkit

Still crashing here, tested with your PR. I do have qtwebengine rebuilding now (some dependency changed I guess?). I'll let you know if it stops crashing, but I strongly think it won't help.
Alright, I can confirm. With Qt5 and webkit-gtk:4.1 it works fine, with Qt6 and webkit-gtk:4.1 you get a blank screen, and with Qt6 and webkit-gtk:6 it fails to launch xdg-dbus-proxy (but that might be due to me testing in gentoo prefix). If you really need this functionality, I recommend switching to the -bin, or using Qt5 for now.
Nevermind, I got it to work on Qt6 with webkit-gtk:6 in prefix. This is the USE flag combination: USE="(prefix) qt6 webkit -X -dbus -enchant -fonts -jemalloc -qt6-imageformats -screencast -wayland" I ran the binary as "WEBKIT_DISABLE_SANDBOX_THIS_IS_DANGEROUS=1 $EPREFIX/usr/bin/telegram-desktop", and made sure that DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS was set in the environment. Disabling the sandbox should only be necessary for Gentoo Prefix, since the bubblewrap arguments aren't prefixified properly. If you still have problems with it, run telegram-desktop in the terminal to see what kind of errors it reports when you load up a webkit page, and maybe try disabling the sandbox like above.
Note that the USE flags I used above are stupid and I don't recommend anyone to build telegram with that combination, it's just one of the stupid combinations I use to test, and an illustration of what the minimum amount of flags is to get it to work.
I tried the set of USE flags you posted as well as disabling the sandbox, still doesn't work here. Prints webview has crashed.
