Hello, there is a new version available: https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/releases/tag/v1.17.5 The new version uses cmake to build. There is also new-optional dependency on media-libs/openjpeg for JPEG2000 embedded in HEIF. libheif-9999 needs to be updated to use cmake too.
Please note, autotools buildsystem is being deprecated by upstream in favor CMake.
