mysql is really not portable and only supports very few arches officially; can we try do mariadb instead if we must do a DB and it's unavoidable?
This is pulled in via dev-perl/DBD-mysql, should I dekeyword there?
Interesting question, so until recently, that ebuild didn't test much at all because it only ran a handful of tests which did not require a daemon (iirc there were some, just not many, but i might be confusing it with another similar pkg). I think for other arches here, we've just masked USE=test for now where there's not a DB kw'd.
