Is there any reason not to use MELPA if you want the latest release of Emacs packages?

> Is there any reason not to use MELPA if you want the latest release of Emacs packages? Issue with MELPA is it's per-user basis. So if I'll have to install magit in both uid 0 & 1000 users which occupies double space-maintainance for same package.
