New release is available upstream. https://github.com/qxmpp-project/qxmpp/releases By the way, it features OMEMO support, and Kaidan app needs it.
OMEMO support needs libomemo-c (https://github.com/dino/libomemo-c/), it is packaged in ::guru as net-libs/libomemo-c
