I do have clang 16 installed but I have not set any package.env to use it to compile qtwebengine. Anyway I've tried the patch from https://bugs.gentoo.org/903573 and it didn't help. Reproducible: Always

Created attachment 860694 [details] qtwebengine-5.15.9_p20230421.build.log I'm also attaching the build log for 5.15.9_p20230421
The fact that it's keyworded on ppc64 means that someone got it building, right? Because there isn't a single dev-qt/qtwebengine version available that compiles on ppc64 right now (5.15.8_p20230112 still does but has been removed from the repos) and I will have to decide whether to downgrade to qt 5.18.8 and use the out of tree qtwebengine-5.15.8_p20230112 or get rid of all the packages which depend on qtwebengine.
(In reply to darkbasic from comment #4) > The fact that it's keyworded on ppc64 means that someone got it building, > right? In the past, yes, and it contains a patch for that. The existing keyword means that it has not had any reason to be re-keyworded yet (like, for example the introduction of a new, not yet ~ppc64 keyworded dependency).
I also have this problem. I noticed that the system-ffmpeg USE flag, which I previously had enabled, was removed from the qtwebengine ebuild, so maybe the ffmpeg part was always broken.
Yes. This was changed to not depend on system-ffmpeg because it was no longer possible to support. Whatever fixes are made to Gentoo's ffmpeg package for ppc(64) (if there are any?) would need to be transferred over to the bundled copy in qtwebengine.
Hint: qtwebengine(-5.15) bundled ffmpeg version information is "4.3.git"... Last Upstream Merge: 71ec3e4583def61fbb32a4815376773ef7c80dee, Aug 27 2020 Taken from RELEASE and README.chromium inside src/3rdparty/chromium/third_party/ffmpeg

*** Bug 913081 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Fix: https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/32922
This bug also exists on ppc64le. 5.15.8_p20230112 was the last version I was ever able to successfully install and ever since then I've been using package.provided to fake having newer versions in order to allow dependent packages to build.
