Upstream has no commits since 2019: https://github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox This package provides direct shell access and so having responsive upstream is a security necessity. Consider treecleaning.

I would add to this report the fact that it doesn't even build successfully against >=openssl-1.1. This was the case when I tried to build it in February 2022 and it remains the case now. In addition to the concern expressed by Anna, it's not being adequately maintained from a downstream perspective either. That being the case, I don't think that it belongs in ::gentoo either.
