I'm not really sure how this has happened, tbh. This is on a machine which is mostly a binpkg consumer.

$ ls /var/tmp/portage/app-editors/emacs-29.0.9999-r1/image/usr/share/info/
emacs-29-vcs

I could probably upload the binpkg if it's really needed.

What is inside the emacs-29-vcs subdir? Especially, does it contain any dir* file?

> I could probably upload the binpkg if it's really needed.

I don't think that's necessary.

Is this the same on the binpkg build host and consumer?

Comment 4 Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2023-03-05 09:33:17 UTC
I cannot reproduce this when I create the binary package with emerge --buildpkgonly.

However, I can reproduce it when I create the binpkg with quickpkg. In this case, I suspect that pkg_preinst is executed twice.

This also explains another bug I hit the other day with sys-kernel/gentoo-kernel, actually.
