Description William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2023-02-16 06:23:57 UTC
Hi David,

I spoke with Sam, and I'm adding myself, per his OK, as a co-maintainer
to this package.

Are you still interested in maintaining it?
Please let me know.

Thanks,

William

I am, but at the same time I don't see I can help much. I am not able to upload dependencies to an official Gentoo domain and uploading it to a personal domain was decided to not be enough for an application like this. So I think it makes more sense if a developer maintains it.

"not be enough"?

Sorry if I didn't explained myself properly. I was referring to some concerns about from where source code should be obtained. See https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/27050#issuecomment-1260065459

I don't think the response there is very fair given you have no other choice. But I agree that it's yet another reason we should allow EGO_SUM for some packages.

Fortunately, Go dep tarballs can be made reproducibly, so it's easy for us to verify it's okay on merging, even if it is a nuisance (which is not your fault).
