Description Sebastian Doering 2023-01-28 09:58:21 UTC
Bluetooth no longer works when upgrading to pipewire 0.3.65-r2.

gentoo-pipewire-launcher reports:

M 22:50:34.109002 script/bluez bluez.lua:277:createMonitor: PipeWire's BlueZ SPA missing or broken. Bluetooth not supported.
M 22:50:34.317284 m-lua-scripting ../wireplumber-0.4.13/modules/module-lua-scripting/api/api.c:376:object_activate_done: <WpSiStandardLink:0x55ddd10d3610> si-standard-link: in/out items are not valid anymore

Seems like the appropriate spa plugins are not being built, even though they show up during the configure phase.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade to pipewire 0.6.35
2. try to connect to a bluetooth speaker
Actual Results:
no connection possible

Expected Results:
playing audio through bluetooth speaker

masking 0.6.35 returns bluetooth functionality.

Which USE flags on media-video/pipewire?

> Steps to Reproduce:
> 1. upgrade to pipewire 0.6.35

You mean 0.3.65.

> masking 0.6.35 returns bluetooth functionality.
>

What version does it then downgrade to? i.e. which version works?

Could you also attach 'equery f pipewire' output?

Hi Sam,

yeah I made some mistakes filling out this bug too quickly. Of course I meant downgrading to pipewire-0.3.64-r2. Here's the version information:

equery f \=pipewire-0.3.64-r2 | grep bluez

For me:

Oh dear. I can't explain why I didn't notice this from the filediff myself, either. Looking...

Confirmed. Building with 0002-spa-bluez5-fix-dependency-on-glib-in-bluez5_deps.patch restores bluetooth functionality.

Thanks Sam!
