Been delaying this while waiting for some packages to migrate, and doesn't seem there's any blockers left. With USE=yt-dlp being default, most users should already using yt-dlp and there's no sense in keeping the barely maintained original. Aware that it's not truly /dead/ anymore, but activity been slow, still uses Nose, focuses on compat with old python more than new, and it's still not getting new releases (last in 2021) despite several begging for it upstream.
