Internal makefile assumes that hppa architecture == HP-UX: https://metacpan.org/release/ILYAZ/Math-Pari-2.030523/source/libPARI/Makefile.PL#L144 and passes "-Aa" option in CFLAGS for HP-UX compiler. You will also notice that the makefile only gets to this point due to broken detection for gcc a few lines above, where it assumes the only way to call gcc is with the "gcc" command. But even then, I don't think we want to encourage the assumption that Linux == gcc, so I believe the correct way is rather to just change the hppa architecture check to an HP-UX OS check.
