Reading COMMON_DEPEND in the openldap ebuild, I think it is trying to force you to switch from heimdal to mit-krb5 if the 'kerberos' and 'kinit' USE flags are enabled.
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #1) > Reading COMMON_DEPEND in the openldap ebuild, I think it is trying to force > you to switch from heimdal to mit-krb5 if the 'kerberos' and 'kinit' USE > flags are enabled. the problem that heimdal and mit-krb5 blocks each other
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #1) > Reading COMMON_DEPEND in the openldap ebuild, I think it is trying to force > you to switch from heimdal to mit-krb5 if the 'kerberos' and 'kinit' USE > flags are enabled. i installed it with USE=-smbkrb5passwd, but: # emerge openldap -pv These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! (In reply to Leonid Kopylov from comment #2) > the problem that heimdal and mit-krb5 blocks each other Right. You would need to uninstall heimdal and install mit-krb5. Alternatively, disable USE=kerberos or USE=kinit on openldap.

To enable kerberos and kinit, you must have mit-krb5 installed. To enable kerberos and smbkrb5passwd, you must have heimdall installed. You cannot enable all 3 flags (kerberos, kinit, smbkrb5passwd) at the same time.
