Seems the new release of qbittorrent have a number of issues, goes into infinite loop on shutdown, have broken api. bug for tracking.
The bug has been referenced in the following commit(s): https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=7ee46ffd581d910a5f8307a13c4a302abb801997 commit 7ee46ffd581d910a5f8307a13c4a302abb801997 Author: Piotr Karbowski <slashbeast@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: 2022-11-29 08:09:27 +0000 Commit: Piotr Karbowski <slashbeast@gentoo.org> CommitDate: 2022-11-29 08:10:12 +0000 package.mask: mask =net-p2p/qbittorrent-4.5.0 Bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/883559 Signed-off-by: Piotr Karbowski <slashbeast@gentoo.org> profiles/package.mask | 5 +++++ 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+)
Can't reproduce, although heard reports. I'm one of those people on stable glibc. Could be connected. Just guessing, but might help with narrowing it down.
That could be the case. I'd like encourage you to participate in upstream github issue and state that it works for you with given glibc version, other reports are for Debian Unstable so that could be exactly the reason.

I was going to do that, when I realized that I don't know which version of glibc debian unstable is using (or the difference between the current gentoo stable 2.36-r5^t and unstable ~2.36-r6), and the person who mentioned it in the github issue didn't bother linking the debian bug. But I will participate if I can help.
Upstream fix: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/pull/18119
I seen it, but there are also https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/18097 that I rather have covered. I myself use API and hit it too. This is not the most fortunate release, I will wait for them to make new release rather than backporting this one fix.
(In reply to Piotr Karbowski from comment #6) > I will wait for them to make new release rather than backporting > this one fix. That's fair. I just posted it for tracking. Or in case someone is one fire to patch it so they can find it.
There is 4.5.1 update out, maybe it fixes this issue.
