The ebuild is explictly relying on gentoo archival/mirrors to "release" an unversioned file: ftp://ftp.wwpdb.org/pub/pdb/data/monomers/components.cif.gz from https://www.wwpdb.org/data/ccd I suggest the developer to try and communicate with the wwPDB to see if they could improve the revision control of this components database. Also, when installing the package I also noticed that the components.cif file isn't even installed. I think it's in the interest of the user to have either a full decoupling of the data (eg. the most recent database is installed as an unmasked -9999 package, if upstream doesn't do solid releases), or to know that the data is from an archive that is doing time-based snapshots of a moving target (eg. explicitly add an external repo providing solid versions, until upstream does it). Reproducible: Always
