The current version of giac (in tree and upstream) is not compatible with pari-2.15. There is a patch at https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/34586 for this. Moreover, giac-1.9.0.21 in the tree will not compile with USE="-gui" see https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/31563#comment:91 onwards. I will upload a branch with the needed change. Reproducible: Always
