gconf is long deprecated. Please remove the dependency if possible.

Looks like 23 still depends on it?

Ah, right. We don't have gsettings as an alternative there, though.

What is the timescale for removal of gconf, as compared to removal of gtk+:2?

Probably aiming to remove gconf in six months or so. Not critical; just wanted to go ahead and put it on maintainers' radars.
