Created attachment 791828 [details] xr-libs/libsurvive/libsurvive-1.01.ebuild I would like to port several XR-related softwares to be in Portage, as I am finding myself needing to install an increasing amount of them manually or through custom ebuilds, but there is no currently existing category for it. Since the categories gui-apps, gui-libs, and gui-wm exist, I think it would be appropriate to name XR versions of these xr-libs, xr-runtime, and xr-apps. How hard would it be to get categories like this in Portage? In addition, I have also currently made one working package for xr-libs/libsurvive, which is attached. It may likely need to be improved before merging though – dependencies aren't fully specified, the naming (1.01) is weird enough that I am not sure if it works well, and this is also my first attempt at submitting an ebuild so I may be missing more as well.
It'd need someone to maintain the whole lot and a developer who was on board with the scheme. I'm not sure what XR is but I'm guesssing maybe the ros team will be interested.
