Created attachment 784064 [details, diff] patch The file sane-backends-1.1.1-r2.ebuild does not have included the flag to compile the epsonds backend. To fix this problem I added the missing flag (see attached patch)
+1 Walked thru the internet and found your thread in the Gentoo forums, while having the same issues with a Epson WorkForce DS-310. Followed your instructions and getting the scanner to work - thanks! This patch should be added a.f.a.p!
