But it you wish, you may add yourself as a proxy maintainers for the package: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers/User_Guide you can make a PR in the github, the developer will be willing to help to merge the PR, feel free to make any change and contribution

I won't request to bump this package frequently, no worries. I was the maintainer of the same font ebuild in another overlay, so I totally agree with you that this font gets updated quite often. I'm requesting a bump this time simply because I'm going to drop the ebuild in another overlay. To make sure the move is smooth, I'd like the main tree to upgrade the font. Nevertheless, I'll create a bump PR on GitHub. I'm not sure if all that requires to become a proxy maintainer is to add yet one more <maintainer> section in the metadata.xml. I'll skip that step this time as it is not my initial intention. Thank you for the kind invitation anyway. :)

Thank you. I'm not sure what the matter is, generally you should be able to make a PR, then the developer will review and help to merge it. or maybe later I'll have a PR for the version bump.
