My previous Gentoo installations used to have an arptables binary or symlink in /sbin. Recent Gentoo installations don't (I am not using nftables). This is breaking a few things on a system used as a router. When emerging net-firewall/arptables-0.0.5-r1::gentoo I'm expecting that the arptables symlink be created. ebtables is not pulled in automatically as it was in previous Gentoo versions, but at least a manuall emerge of this package creates the right symlinks for me: # eselect ebtables show Current ebtables symlinks: ebtables /sbin/ebtables-legacy ebtables-restore /sbin/ebtables-legacy-restore ebtables-save /sbin/ebtables-legacy-save However, when emerging arptabes I would expect a similar result: # eselect arptables show Current arptables symlinks: arptables (unset)
