#78720 contains a workaround to allow arts (and other KDE 3.4.0 packages) to compile on x86_64.
The same workaround is also applicable on ppc.

Steps to reproduce:
1. emerge =kde-base/arts-3.4.0_beta2. watch it fail.
2. patch kde.eclass.
3. emerge =kde-base/arts-3.4.0_beta2. watch it succeed.
