When I try to start amSynth I get the following error: matt@snoopy ~ $ amSynth amSynth 1.0.0 Copyright 2001-2004 Nick Dowell and others. amSynth comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to: No such user 1000. terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): St9bad_alloc /usr/bin/amSynth: line 75: 15640 Aborted $BINDIR/amSynth.bin $* ********** there was an error! ********** please check your config in ~/.amSynthrc I am user 1000 and I am running realtime-lsm Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

what user are you starting it as? What's the uid for that user?
this bug is related to the compiler used to produce binary executable for amSynth.bin; upstream needs to fix this.
I get this when /usr/libexec/amSynth.bin has suid. When I chmod 755 it, this goes away. This only happens with jack + realtime-lsm. Non-realtime jack and amsynth works fine.
