The test in maildrop fails because it written against a buggy version of courier-unicode. That bug in courier-unicode is now fixed and thus the test fails. Upstream has already adapted the patch, see commit 5c826bd3a09ca686b5b18365839db7cfb33e3ccd [1] of courier-libs repository.
