Created attachment 727029 [details] Build logs When emerging, ecof uses unprefixed LD and causes ERROR. Add the build log as an attachment.
- Is the build log truncated? It seems to be. Please include the full build.log that emerge mentions at the end of a failed installation. - Include emerge --info. - Are you using gcc-config[-native-symlinks] (and/or the same for binutils-config)? If so, things like this do tend to break, but of course, they should be fixed.

[08:27:20] <+gyakovlev> ycao: sounds like chromeos message to me. [08:27:20] <+gyakovlev> I think it's environment substitutes generic ld with a script that simply dies with that message. [08:27:20] <+gyakovlev> you just need to make sure the build calls ld profixed with proper host triple. [08:28:28] <+gyakovlev> it errors out probably because something ignores LD variable [08:28:47] <+gyakovlev> so you need to check source/makefiles/otherbuildfiles that hardcodes ld invocations [08:28:53] <+gyakovlev> and not uses LD envvar [08:51:57] <+sam_> ycao: are you using chromeos? [08:52:14] <+sam_> you're using an extremely old portage+python [08:52:25] <+sam_> and perl [08:52:36] <+sam_> generally it's polite to mention if you're not using "normal" gentoo [08:52:48] <+sam_> we've had various problems in the past with google eclass overrides [08:52:52] <+sam_> it's ok to use chromeos, just tell us so we know to debug it [08:53:44] <+sam_> (and yes it does sound like that message) [08:54:00] <+sam_> unfortunately didn't answer my other questions yet https://bugs.gentoo.org/804354#c1 [08:54:06] <+sam_> the profile symlink needs fixing too So, I think we still need the full build.log.

Yes I'm right now use chromeos, but I try replace the old portage myself, currently synced from usptream. I'm also think about adding LD envvar manually, but adding in the profile/make.defaults doesn't work, do you have some idea? Sorry, actually the attachment is the full build.log, I copyed from the link the emerge mentioned.

Do you need some other env info? I think the cause might be my environment. Thanks!
Is this still something that's possible to address? sys-libs/ncurses works fine for me on riscv, but I think all of these would need to be sorted to do anything with this one: - truncated build.log - broken profile symlink - old portage version - chromeos details Is the reporter still around?
