Can we stabilize this? It makes plib built as shared libs (based on https://bugs.gentoo.org/333161) It's been sitting in my local portage for 11 years.

You may have had it locally for years but you've literally just pushed it to the tree and it's quite a big change. I'm sure it can wait a couple more weeks, at least.
(Also, anything involving libtool usually needs some time to settle ;)).
