There are new versions of Sigil. Lattest one: https://github.com/Sigil-Ebook/Sigil/releases/tag/1.4.3 Got it compiling and running in my local overlay without any change into the ebuild. Thanks!
Thanks for the notification. I'm informed about the new version, but the 1.4.* versions of Sigil had multiple critical bugs and fixes, so I want to wait a little more to see the critical bugs stop. Sigil is an editor for epub files, which are books that might be a very important file for others. I don't want to put a version on Gentoo that will corrupt those files because of a bug. I don't mean to wait a whole month, but every time I put a period of just two weeks, a new critical bug is found and fixed and new version is out. Also do note that the bugs that are fixed had resulted during the 1.4.0 version development period, meaning that they are irrelevant to the previous version currently in our tree. To summarize: I want to wait a little more and then upgrade in out tree.

I completely agree with you, but isn't that exactly what unstable keywords exist for? I mean that judgment can apply to all packages. Anyone with a ~* accept_keyword expects to have unstable packages on the system, especially in a distribution like Gentoo where people are supposed to know what they are doing. I do not know the official position on the matter, so I comment. Anyway, thank you very much for taking the time to write your quick response. Cheers
